Reading in Language Introductory Program Classrooms in Sweden

چکیده

The ability to read is important for studies, work and social life, therefore, reading needs be central in all school subjects. purpose of this article shed light on the factors that either facilitate or limit second-language students a transitional program at an upper secondary Sweden terms their comprehension skills. Observations teacher-initiated practices interviews with teachers about texts, which were analyzed using Bernhardt’s compensatory model reading, show highlight importance fact subject they teach can help become competent readers Swedish texts. Despite this, amount processing texts varies—in some classes, do not all, other great deal. only teacher who seems both include choose interest as Second Language (SSL).
